Plymouth ferry port is located to the southwest of England. Its position at the River Tamar’s mouth justifies its title as the Royal Navy’s second home. Millbay Docks is considered the main commercial and financial area of the port, which is operated and owned by the Associated British Ports.

For those with a bit more time to spare before departing on one of the many ferries at Plymouth Port, there are a few leisure venues to occupy your time. Plymouth itself is a very pleasant city if you have time to stroll around. There are many sights to see including beautiful historic architecture, modern day shopping centres and a range of museums. It is a good place to spend a fe hours before you have to board your ferry.

If departing by ferries at Plymouth Port, there are routes providing a 24 hour journey to Santander, Spain, twice a week. Brittany Ferries also offer up to three daily seven hour trips to Roscoff, France. Accessing the port is fairly easy as it is situated by a number of major motorways which connect to the rest of the UK.

If accessing Plymouth ferry port from other areas of the UK, the M5 to Exeter provides the most direct route. After starting out on the M5, the A38 connects to Plymouth. There are also a number of taxi and bus services that connect passengers from the centre of town to Plymouth Port.
