Cheap Ferry to Karlskrona Port

Karlskrona in Sweden is a truly spectacular location on 33 islands and islets located on the country’s south-eastern tip. The historic town of Karlskrona has been on the UNESCO World Heritage Site since the nineties and is home to a number of beautifully preserved buildings dating back hundreds of years. It is one of the Baltic Sea’s main ports with frequent ferries going to and from Gdynia, Poland. In addition to this, it is also a modern IT centre.

Around 200,000 passengers pass through the port each year which offers travellers a small snack bar, a convenience store and public telephones. Disabled travellers are catered for with disabled toilets and wheelchair access. Travellers with any disabilities should however contact Sterna Line in advance so staff can provide assistance to those in need. All ferries have disabled access to the main areas and disabled toilets onboard.

Ferries from Karlskrona to Gdynia in approx. ten hours and 30 minutes. The crossings are operated by Sterna Line ferries whose boats onboard facilities include snack bars, restaurants, a pleasant outdoor deck area and night-time entertainment. Sterna Line operates 14 trips a week on this route.

There is frequent train service to Karlskrona with trains leaving Karlskrona Railway Station, which is centrally located. There are direct services from the station to Stockholm, Gothenburg as well as Malmo. There is no bus service available at the ferry port however.

The road network in Sweden is excellent and not far from Karlskrona is the E22 motorway which makes it easy to continue onto your next destination. The port offers both short and long stay car parks and has areas designated especially for disable travellers. Alternatively, Ronneby airport is only 30 minutes away where you can take a flight to Stockholm in a mere 55 minutes.
